In the closet

Some things are best left in the closet but NOT this new ensemble, leopard swing coat, leggings and Michael Kors high black boots with gold studs. I know I speak for a lot of women who are sneak in purchases into their closets and this one is no exception-just don't tell my husband about this post! Now all I have to figure out is when and where to wear it besides the carpool line. Pics to follow...

A rainy St Louis day and sunny Miami

It's a rainy day here in st louis and I must say I'm loving it but my thoughts go to a friend whom should be landing in sunny miami any minute now! Hobo and I traveled to miami three years ago for a conference he had. Though I was excited, I was a bit reluctant to go since I'd just given birth to my second child, hong kong. Now I may sound like a terrible mom but I really wasn't worrying about missing him or my other child, biscuit, I was more concerned since I had not lost all my baby weight yet and miami IS full of beautiful women! Vain, huh? We get there and it is sunny and beautiful. Took advantage of my time and sunbathed with cocktails. Hobo is a food snob and before our trip, he mentioned to me that he wanted to eat out every night (who doesn't) on vacations BUT he wanted ME to make the reservations. Major panic mode since a.) he is a food snob and b.) with a not even two year old and 6 week old, how was I going to find the time? House was ignored for a week while I poured over websites and restaurant reviews and managed to get three reservations for the three nights. One was "A Fish Called Avalon." Very good and reasonable. Next was "the Blue Door" at Hotel Delano which is a 4.5 star hotel, fabulous food, a bit pricier but the Best Dessert I've ever had in my life-a "cigar" filled with cinnamon and cream. OMG! The back of hotel transforms into an outdoor pool type nightclub. Next night was at a tucked away Italian restaurant, Casa Tua with communal seating. We had no idea what to expect and when we opened up our menu, the prices were quite higher than expected. And the place is so small that we could not just walk out...Is that is what credit cards are for, huh? We ended up ordering a bottle of wine, sharing antipasta, each got primi piatti, secondi piatti then dolci. While waiting for la dolci, we are looking around and notice some celebrity order two $300 bottles of wine. One day...well, as mark and I are enjoying the cheese, a picture behind mark falls off the wall onto mark's surgical arm, knocks EVERYTHING off our table and shatters into pieces. HORROR! The maitre d whisks us to a side room and offers us a cocktail while they clean up the mess. Meanwhile, our meal is FREE! $400!!! While thrilled about that, we can't help but look with disgust that our once messy table is now clean...with new patrons.
